Q: What is a home inspection and
why do we need one?
A: A home inspection is like putting your home through a physical exam by an
objective professional. All the major systems and components of the house
are checked top to bottom. This includes the plumbing, electrical and
heating systems, as well as the structural components, such as the roof and
crawl space (if applicable).
Q: How much does an
inspection cost and what is included?
A: The inspection is based on the square footage of the home. See the
fees section for specifics.
Q: Some inspectors charge
less than you charge. Why do you cost more?
A: It is our policy to not speak directly about any of our competitors.
They have all had the same training as myself and earned the right to
perform real estate inspections in Texas. All I can say is you get
what you pay for.
Q: Do you follow any
standards?
A: Yes! Our inspection procedures and written reports conform to the Texas
Real Estate Commision Standards of Practice. The State of Texas is one of
the few states to require licensing of Home Inspectors.
Q: Does a home
inspection include a termite inspection?
A: No! A separate inspection is necessary by a trained termite
inspection professional. A.A.I is currently training to do termite
inspections but is not currently offering the service.
Q: Should we attend the
inspection?
A: Yes! We encourage you to attend the inspection. We want you
to be thoroughly informed on any issues brought up during the inspection.
Most people learn visually. In a long, wordy report, it may be
difficult to discern key issues with issues that are common and can be
easily or affordably fixed. We work weekends and evenings to
accommodate your schedule.
