What is Indoor Air Quality? Indoor air quality is the environmental quality of the indoor air. The indoor environment has been a concern for years but has gained more attention in the past few years primarily due to the attention given to toxic mold. The average person spends 95% of their time indoors. Most HVAC systems simply recirculate conditioned air. No outside or fresh air is introduced. Most new construction focuses on sealing a structure to not allow outside air, insects, etc. indoors. Thus, our air conditioners and heaters become much more efficient. In sealing our homes so tight, we also seal any indoor contaminants (mold, bacteria, carbon monoxide) as well. For years, the E.P.A. has been focusing on our environment primarily outside. Considering we spend most of our time indoors, the focus is rapidly shifting. The importance of safe indoor air is immeasurable. Air Assessment, Inc. has the capability to instantly monitor carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, volatile organic compounds, oxygen, and lower explosive limits. We can also data log the mentioned constituents over a period of time to see changes in concentration. Furthermore, we can test any constituent of concern based on site specific details. If you think your home or office might be making you sick, call Air Assessment, Inc. and let us evaluate your indoor air and rid the facility of the problem.
